In Nigeria, only the Discos are eligible to sell these meres to the electricity consumers in their coverage area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more Read More-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the press release,  The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has approved the revision of unit prices for end-user meters under the MAP and National Mass Metering Regulation, effective from 6th of September 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The revised prices are detailed below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Single-Phase Meter- N88,124.30 (including VAT)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Three-Phase Meter- N154,623.81 (including VAT)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NERC has assured that these revised costs do not affect customers who have made formal payment before 16th September as they would receive their meters at the previous rate with no extra cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NERC made the announcement in a circular marked NERC\/2023\/020, which was jointly signed by S. Garba, the commission\u2019s chairman and D. Akpeneye, its commissioner, legal, licencing and compliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>single-phase meter <\/strong>previously sell for N58,661.69k making an<strong> increment of about 50%<\/strong>.
