Eko Electricity Distribution Company Lagos

A sizable portion of Lagos State is serviced by Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC). Following the privatization of the country’s power sector by the Nigerian government in 2013, the company was established with the goal of enhancing service delivery to the country’s electricity consumers and enhancing power supply.

In its operational areas, which also include Lagos Island, Victoria Island, Ikoyi, Lekki, Ajah, Ibeju-Lekki, Festac Town, Apapa, and Mushin, EKEDC serves more than 600,000 customers. The company is also in charge of maintaining the power infrastructure, including transformers, cables, and substations, to ensure that customers receive a steady supply of electricity.

One of many initiatives that EKEDC has started in an effort to enhance the caliber of its service delivery is the installation of pre-paid meters, which allow customers to pay for electricity before using it. Customers have been encouraged to conserve energy thanks to this program, and estimated billing problems have also decreased. Customers can make mobile payments for their Eko Electricity bills on servpay.ng.

In addition to energy theft, power grid damage, and insufficient supplies of power from the national grid, the company has had to deal with a number of challenges. While continuing to strive for high-quality customer service, EKEDC has made significant progress in reducing the frequency of power outages in its operational areas.

EKEDC is in a good position to contribute more to the expansion of Nigeria’s power sector thanks to the adoption of innovative ideas and the dedication of its workforce.
